Description
Height: 4″ – 6″
Sun requirements: Full to partial
Soil: Dry to mesic
Field Pussytoes is a groundcover that covers soil in prairies and savannas. They prefer dry soils with full to partial shade and spread by stolons. The white fluffy flowers bloom in May and June. The flowers and leaves are soft to the touch and the seeds freely float away as the stems dry. Parts of the plant are poisonous so deer and rabbits do not usually eat this species. This is a larvae host for American Painted Lady butterflies.
Choose between full flats (32 plants) and half flats (16 plants).
