Description
Height: 2′ – 6′ tall
Sun requirements: Full to partial
Soil: Moist to Wet
Meadowsweet is commonly found in sunny wetlands of the Midwest, such as lakeshores and wet prairies, but can do well in moist garden soils. It tolerates acid soils. This modestly sized, upright shrub is at home in borders, rain gardens, or used as a low hedge. It is not an aggressive spreader. White spires of flowers throughout summer attract many pollinators, while fruits attract songbirds. Meadowsweet is a keystone plant that hosts many species of caterpillars and supports native bees.
Pick up for woody plants in 2026 will be at UW Arboretum the week of May 11, 2026.
