A Musician and a Score: The Spirit of Experimentation in Music and Science

November 14 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm

$45.00

Presented by: Dr. Paul Hanson, Research Professor, UW-Madison Center for Limnology and Professional Musicians, Chris Wagoner and Mary Gaines

What does it mean to be an artist or a scientist? We are creators, projecting ideas into the soundscape or the literature, and we are the score, offering ourselves as a staff onto which new ideas are written. In this session, we play with music and science and show how cycles of creativity connect our disciplines. The subject is Lake Mendota and its 150 years of water quality, how it has changed and what the future might hold.

Luncheon-Lectures are held in the Arboretum Visitor Center Auditorium. A buffet lunch is followed by the educational presentation.  Each lecture costs $45.

This popular series fills up quickly, so register as soon as you can. Registration closes November 4.  Online registration is faster.
