Join the Friends of the Arboretum for a gorgeous Mississippi Riverboat cruise on Saturday, October 11. We will explore the mighty upper Mississippi, surrounded by bluffs of glowing autumn color during our three hour adventure, and enjoy a delicious buffet lunch on our riverboat, the magnificent La Crosse Queen. It is an authentic paddle wheel boat and a replica of the grand riverboats that traveled the Mississippi during the 19th century. Mark Twain won’t be piloting our riverboat, but we will hear him speak from the 19th century, courtesy of Mark Horan, FOA board member!
Transportation to/from La Crosse will be provided by comfortable Badger coach and will be an exciting part of our fall color tour. We will travel home through the breathtaking Amish country in the Coulee region of the driftless area. We depart and return from the UW Madison Arboretum.
This is special opportunity to experience a truly memorable day of Wisconsin’s fall glory.
The coach, riverboat and lunch are included in the registration fee. Please provide your own beverages/snacks for the bus trip.
Trip is limited to 54 participants. Online registration is fastest. Prefer to register by mail? Click here for a PDF registration form. Mail-in registrations must be received by October 1.
